Yesterday we looked back at some of our favourite shows of 2012. We picked Blur’s warm up show back in June, Icona Pop storming the tiny Electricity Showrooms in back in May (expect big things from them in 2013), the mighty Stone Roses return to Heaton Park and more. If you missed it, click here and give it a quick read.
2012 was a great year for live music, despite the complete wash-out of a summer we had to endure. So with the light of a new day – and a new year – let’s look forwards at some of the most exciting shows already on the cards for 2013.
Grammy nominated R&B star Trey Songz tours his top 10 selling album Chapter 5 in January. The American superstar plays seven dates across the UK including three nights at London’s prestigious Hammersmith Apollo.
From modern day stars of R&B to arguably four of the biggest stars of them all. The Jacksons return to the UK in February, also to the famous stage at the Hammersmith Apollo. Expect all the hits from the band that redefined, reinvented, and reinvigorated popular music as we know it.
Now…Looking slightly further ahead to the spring and summer months – when some of the worlds biggest stars come to the UK’s best venues – you can catch the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and the one and only Meat Loaf on tour. The latter being the a farewell from a man responsible for one of the biggest selling albums of all time. The ‘Last At Bat’ tour hits UK shores at the end of April. Don’t miss it!
We obviously can’t mention summer without throwing in a festival and Benicassim, consistently one of the best European festivals around for a number of years, announced the first acts on their bill just a couple of weeks back. Amongst them were rock legends Queens of the Stone Age (who have new material out early in 2013) and The Killers plus rising stars including Palma Violets and Azealia Banks.
Expect loads more amazing shows in the coming weeks!
And of course, we hope that where ever you are and what ever you do…we hope you have an amazing, live music filled 2013!
