This week Eventim and Stereoboard are giving you and a friend the chance to see Counting Crows live at the Hammersmith Apollo on Tuesday 23rd April.

San Francisco rockers Counting Crows return this week for their first UK tour in over 4 years. The tour follows the release of their latest studio offering, 2012′s ‘Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation)’.

“All I could say when I saw the plans for a UK/EU tour was ‘It’s about time”, says Adam Duritz. “It’s hard to explain to fans why bands occasionally let so much time pass between visits. The truth is sometimes life just gets in the way and, before you know it, it’s been a few years. Personally, I’m just glad we’re going back. I have a lot of great memories of past tours. Remembering where we’ve been always gets me excited about where we’re going.”

Counting Crows have released a live album, ‘Echoes of the Outlaw Roadshow’, to coincide with the new live shows.

Gig Of The Week – The Temper Trap

Indie rockers The Temper Trap caused a storm the world over with 2009 smash hit single ‘Sweet Disposition’, it was the ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ of that year. Richard Hawley Mercury Nomination, win concert tickets!

In a career spanning over 23 years, 2012 has by far been Richard Hawley‘s most successful to date. Founding member of Treebound Story and guitarist in both Pulp and the Longpigs, it wasn’t until 2001 when Hawley released his first full-length solo album – Late Night Final to universal critical appeal. Over the course of eight albums, Hawley’s classic song-writing and unmistakeable croon has turned the Sheffield native into one of the most respected singer-songwriters in the country.

A darker, more introspective, heavier sounding nine songs make up Hawley’s current record – Standing At The Sky’s Edge. His biggest selling record to date, peaking at number 3 in the UK album charts, last week saw the album receive a nomination in the much lauded Mercury Music Prize alongside newcomers Lianne La Havas, Alt-J and Django Django.
