The mighty cogs of Europe’s biggest rock and metal music festival are turning and an epic line-up thundering into life. Download 2015 is coming.
The first round of announcements has already thrown up plenty of surprises and gives you one last chance to see Motley Crue before they disband for good at the end of 2015.
Slipknot // Judas Priest // Five Finger Death Punch // Black Stone Cherry
The biggest, angriest monster of a metal band to emerge in recent years, Slipknot storm into Download Festival for the fifth time. Main support comes from locally-bred Metal Gods Judas Priest.
Headlining the second stage on Friday are Kentucky hard rockers Black Stone Cherry.
Muse // Faith No More // A Day To Remember // Marilyn Manson
Muse will make their download debut as headliners on Saturday. Considered by many to be the greatest live act in the world, they may come as somewhat of a shock choice for many metalheads, but Muse have already been confirmed for a number of hard rock festivals across Europe, and reportedly have been working on a ‘heavier’ seventh album with legendary AC/DC producer Matt Lange.
Main support will come from alt-funk-rap-metal pioneers Faith No More.
Also making a long-awaited and eagerly anticipated return to Download headlining the second stage is Marilyn Manson, when he’s not jamming with Johnny Depp he’s back in the studio readying his new album Pale Emperor – which is set for its first UK festival outing at Download.
Kiss // Motley Crue // Slash // Enter Shikari
KISS will bring Download 2015 to a close when they headline the main stage on Sunday 14 June.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have carved themselves emphatically into the pantheon of Rock mythology with their huge choruses, unmistakable visuals and extraordinary, pyrotechnical live performances. KISS return to Donington having graced Monsters of Rock in 1988 and 1996 and headlined Download, Europe’s biggest rock and metal festival, in 2008.
Hellraisers Mötley Crüe are the band’s main support on Sunday, making their last ever festival performance at the rock event before they disband “for good” in early 2016.
