Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold and Aerosmith have been Announced as Head-Liners of Next Year’s Download Festival
Taking place at Donington Park on 13-15 June, Friday night’s headliner Avenged Sevenfold will mark the California metal band’s first headline slot at any UK festival. The event, in its 13th year, has also confirmed horror-metal act Rob Zombie on the main-stage bill on Friday, after headlining the second stage in 2011.
Saturday night’s line-up has also started to take shape, with Linkin Park announced as headliners and Fall Out Boy as direct support. While it will be the nu-metal act’s fourth time headlining Download, Linkin Park fans will enjoy a different performance from previous greatest-hits sets, with the California quintet playing their breakthrough 2000 album Hybrid Theory in full.[quote] “We have been kicking around the idea of playing Hybrid Theory for some time, and the perfect opportunity is Download 2014,”[/quote] said Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. “The legendary energy of the Download crowd is the apex of the rock experience, and we are very excited to share this special night with them.”
Aerosmith have been announced as the final head-liner for next year’s Download rock festival.Aerosmith last headlined the festival in 2010. Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler was a judge on American Idol in 2011 and 2012 and is due to release a solo album next year.
Guitarist Joe Perry said: “It’s been too long since we’ve been to England and we’re sincerely charged to be coming back.”
