The King is back! Due to public demand, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll returns to The O2, with Elvis On Tour: The Exhibition. The retrospective exhibition documents how Elvis impacted popular culture around the world through his music, movies and personal styles.
Focusing on Elvis’ career between between 1969 to 1977. The exhibition tells the story of his return to music, after it had taken a back seat during his film work. In his return Elvis toured the US nearly non-stop, including benefit concerts for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund in TV special Aloha from Hawaii.
The new exhibition features over 200 artefacts and memorabilia items, including over 35 of his iconic jumpsuits. Along with guitars, jewellery, images and tour posters. It also features interviews with the man himself and clips of him performing on tour during this time. As well as interviews with Priscilla Presley and his touring band.
Here you can see some of the jump suits exhibited for the very first time, as well as guitars, microphones, posters and tour trunks. It features many items that were seen in the 1972 documentary, Elvis On Tour.
