We have some extremely exciting shows going on sale at Eventim on Friday morning…
Aluna Francis and George Reid may have met over the internet, but the ease of their collaboration makes them sound like they’ve been producing music together forever. AlunaGeorge combines Francis’ exceptional vocal talent with the ambient electronic rhythms created by Reid.
Regular radio plays and a rapidly increasing fan-base will ensure that tickets to these two intimate shows are extremely sought-after.
Haim are three sisters from LA who are creating quite a stir. Listening to their track “Forever”, you can appreciate why their sound has been described as “Folk R&B”, and their live shows have been extremely well received – particularly with the introduction of their parents to the stage, with whom the sisters embarked on their musical journey from an early age.
Sam and the Womp are a British based eight piece music group who formed in 2009 and have created a unique alternative disco sound. Their music mixes traditional elements of Balkan music and Jamaican ska with modern electronic and dance elements. The band also has their own dance, called the “Womp”, which is fairly unique and uninhibited.
You can catch them “Womping” to their number 1 hit “BOM BOM” on the 31st of August at the O2 Academy 3 Birmingham.
Following the release of their wildly successful third album “A Flash Flood of Colour” the genre defying Enter Shikari has been on a non-stop tour of “wild nights and crazy parties”. Their triumphant Reading and Leeds appearances were named by Kerrang Magazine as one of the highlights of the festival.
Now they return with two shows in December at the Birmingham HMV Institute – Get your tickets at Eventim.
We’ve also got some cracking comedy…
The British Comedy Award’s Queen of Comedy Sarah Millican is giving up the party scene (Ann Summers), easing off on the drinking (fizzy pop equals wealthy dentists) and is settling down (taking her bra off). Determined to put down some roots, she now has a cat (furry baby) and even a tree (she has a lot of mugs).
On this, her third national tour, you will learn what to take on a dirty weekend, the easiest way to blend in in posh restaurants and how to teach a pensioner to swear. Join her for some hilarious domestic bliss.
