Grab your picnic blanket, the kids and the dog and prepare for the first ever BBC Countryfile Live to take over the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace this August.

Taking place from 4 – 7 August, it is set to be one of the country’s biggest outdoor events that combines the best county fairs with the stars from the BBC’s most popular programme, including Matt Baker, John Craven, Adam Henson, Ellie Harrison, Anita Rani and Tom Heap.

Speaking at this week’s launch, which saw the presenters climb into a 16 foot haystack, Matt Baker said: “We’re opening up Countryfile to the general public and allowing a hands-on experience for all those who watch and love the programme. We hope people will come along and have fun with all the family. It’s a full-on live experience with a bit of a festival vibe.”

BBC Countryfile Live will see a spectacular live show take place in the Main Arena along with a plethora of family activities including ‘In the Barn’, which will allow fans to meet the Countryfile presenters in a 300 capacity venue with Q&A sessions. ‘Adam’s Farm’ will see Adam Henson bring his farm to the public, allowing the chance to meet some rare breeds.

A vintage Funfair, Tug-of-War, Morris dancing and a village fete can be found in ‘The Village Green’, while ‘The National Trust Theatre’ will play host to a number of debates, talks and panels focusing on countryside issues.

There will also be over 500 exhibitors including independent food and craft producers, so that you can take home the perfect (most likely delicious) souvenir.

Oh, and we should mention that BBC Countryfile Live welcomes dogs, so your four-legged friend can join in all the fun too!
