Ronni Ancona, Francine Lewis & Lucy Punch
confirmed to take part in the Mencap Big Comedy Special
A few special guests are still to be announced to complete the cast in this series of very special series of one-off sketches for Mencap.
Confirmed so far… Omid Djalili, Russell Howard, Jo Brand, Richard Herring, Jessica Hynes, Andrew Maxwell and Jon Richardson, as well as Tim Downie and Cardinal Burns.
Girl power is the name of the game with the latest additions to the already outstanding funny line up planned for the Mencap Big Comedy Special on October 02 2013 at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.
Award-winning actress and impressionist Ronni Ancona joins the line-up for a specially commissioned sketch for the Big Comedy Special written by the comedy writing partnership of Jason Hazeley, Joel Morris and James Serafinowicz.
She is joined by actress, impressionist and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Francine Lewis who wow’d the public earlier this year with her impersonations of Stacey Solomon, Amy Childs, Katie Price, Holly Willoughby and Cheryl Cole.
Ronni Ancona said, “I am honoured to be taking part in a show to raise funds for such an amazing cause which is at the forefront of support for the learning disability community – The planned sketches look great fun and I’m really looking forward to participating.”
Lucy Punch, who has worked alongside Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake in smash-hit movie Bad Teacher, will also be part in a never-before seen sketch on the night. The Mencap Big Comedy Special brings together some of the UK’s best-loved comedians for a fundraising night of uproarious entertainment. The funny favorites in line for the comedy special already include Omid Djalili, Russell Howard, Jo Brand, Richard Herring, Jessica Hynes, Andrew Maxwell and Jon Richardson, as well as Tim Downie and Cardinal Burns in the running for the planned comedy sketches.
Proceeds from the event will support Mencap’s continued work supporting people with a learning disability, their families and carers. Mencap campaign for equal rights, challenge attitudes and prejudices, and support people with a learning disability to live their lives the way they want to.
