Ahead of tonight’s BRIT Awards, we started thinking about past performances. Here are our five most memorable…

The Spice Girls

Back in 1997 when we were all living in Spice World, the ultimate girl group made one of the most iconic performances of all time with ‘Wannabe’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are’. Plus, who can forget Geri’s Union Jack dress? Classic BRITs moment. Here’s Zoe Ball interviewing the girls backstage.

Amy Winehouse

The late Amy Winehouse gave a flawless performance of her hit single ‘Rehab’ in 2007. Amy was also the recipient of The BRIT Award for British Female Solo Artist that night. The following year she returned to the stage with Mark Ronson for another memorable performance of ‘Valerie’.

Lady Gaga

In 2010 Lady Gaga performed a very emotional acoustic version of ‘Telephone’ as a tribute to Alexander McQueen. Aside from being a flawless and moving performance, it was also visually unique – very Gaga!

Michael Jackson

The great, late Michael Jackson performed the classic ‘Earth Song’ a whole 20 years ago back in 1996. While the performance itself was very theatrical, so was the moment that Jarvis Cocker, erm, invaded the stage. Enough said.

Adele

This was probably the defining moments in Adele’s career. There’s nothing really that can be said about this performance. A piano and her voice, that’s all that was needed for this iconic performance of ‘Someone Like You’.
