New campaign aims to reduce ticket fraud in lead up to Christmas

The Society of Ticket Agents & Retailers (STAR) has announced the #lookfortheSTAR campaign in a bid to reduce ticketing fraud during the Christmas period.

The campaign encourages customers buying tickets during this peak time to always ensure that STAR’s kitemark, which identifies retailers that are a reliable source and have signed up to STAR’s strict Code of Practice, can be found when making such purchases.

In the six months leading up to the end of October alone there were almost 3,000 cases of ticketing fraud reported, totalling a staggering £1.3 million lost, signifying just how significant STAR’s campaign is.

Eventim, along with the Concert Promoters Association (CPA) and National Arenas Association (NAA) and others, including Action Fraud, wholly support the #lookfortheSTAR initiative, wishing all those who purchase tickets as gifts over the Christmas period a safe and authentic buying experience.
