We thought we’d take a look at one of London’s newest festivals, which has been causing waves with it’s enviable location and stellar line up of music, food and drink.
Plus we are giving you a chance to win a pair of tickets to the festival.
What’s the story behind OnBlackheath festival?
Three local guys, Tom, Alex and Terry, with a passion for music, food and festivals thought it would be a good idea to put on an event in their home town.
The event will showcase Blackheath and the surrounding area, as well as promoting local traders, produce and artists that could sit comfortably with international superstars.
OnBlackheath and Harvey Goldsmith have now been working towards this for a number of years and the inaugural event this September, with Massive Attack headlining & Gizzi Erskine presenting her Chefs Club, epitomises the vision that OnBlackheath set out to achieve.
Who are the big acts?
The obvious draws here are the two huge headline acts.
OnBlackheath features one of only 2 UK festival dates for trip-hop superstars Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall aka Massive Attack on Saturday.
And on the Sunday you can look forward to a superb set from the voice of disenchanted twenty-somethings everywhere , and the man who started the London 2012 opening ceremony, Frank Turner.
Other big draws include the likes of Imelda May, Aloe Blacc ,a DJ set from Hot Chip’s Joe Goodard and folk-punk legends The Levellers.
Plus we have been promised a very special guest who is yet to be announced.
What are the other attractions?
The Food Village with Gizzi Erskine’s Chefs Club will be a festival first.
Not only can you enjoy the demonstrations by several Michelin-starred chefs but after each presentation you can move into a chef curated pop-up restaurant where you will be able to enjoy a two course meal cooked by your favourite chef with wine.
OnBlackheath will also be offering you the best London street food stalls and locally brewed craft beer.
As well as stunning food & drink the event will be filled with a whole host of street entertainment and a kids zone that will be interactive and of course, fun!
