Peter Kay ‘s Phoenix Nights Live: Two hows Rise To Twelve Shows In One Hour Due To Phenomenal Demand. Extra 13th night on sale 10.00am today.
Taking on more shows than Take That’s 2015 run at the same venue and selling two more nights than comedy legends Monty Python who performed ten shows at the 02 London in July.
The shows sold over one hundred and twenty thousand tickets in just three hours with all profits from all of the shows (including the additional ten shows) in full support of Comic Relief. With Kay and the full original cast of the award-winning comedy series giving all their time for free on the project.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “What an amazing day this is for the Comic Relief. This is the first time a comedy show has been produced solely for Comic Relief on this scale and what an unbelievable result so far”.
Peter Kay is no stranger to the arena. His Guinness Record breaking stand-up tour saw the comedian play an astonishing forty nights at the venue, a record never beaten by any other act in the world. He also worked at the arena as a steward when it opened in 1995 as he was starting his career in comedy.
