With the mighty Metal Hammer Golden God Awards 2016 almost upon us here’s a round up of some other quality shows you need to get yourself to.

The UK’s largest independent metal festival is held at Walton On Trent. This year’s festival is set to be a killer with appearances from Twisted Sister, Mastodon, Anthrax and many more.

Bring Me The Horizon
British rockers Bring me The Horizon have been around now for over 10 years and go from strength to strength. With the release of their last album ‘That’s The Spirit’ in 2015 and amazing live performances, if you haven’t seen them live already then you really need to get these guys on your radar.

Download Festival
The festival that needs no introduction, Download is the premier metal and rock festival in the UK, held at the hallowed Donnington Park. This year we see Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden headlining.

Reading & Leeds Festival
Known for their party-heavy atmosphere and eclectic line ups, Reading & Leeds are a big favourite in the festival calendar.

3 Doors Down
Still going strong after 20 years, 3 Doors Down are touring in support of their latest offering ‘Us and the Night’. Be prepared for a great night of rock with the gents from Mississippi.

Billy Talent
This Canadian four piece have been wowing us for quite some time. ‘Devil in a Midnight Mass’, ‘Try Honesty’, ‘Red Flag’, ‘Fallen Leaves’ and ‘Rusted from the Rain’ are just some of the reasons why you should NOT MISS this band live.

Do we really need to introduce the mighty AC/DC? Touring with Axl Rose from Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC and Axl are legends in their own right, but together they are a force to be reckoned with.

Alien Ant Farm
There is more to AAF than their cover of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal, a band well worth checking out live.

Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy hit UK shores in August, formed by former Carcass member guitarist Michael Amott. Be prepared for some heavy riffs and super-fast solos!
