As one of the North East’s premiere venues, the O2 Academy Newcastle has a rich heritage, having played host to some massive names in music, including: Bloc Party, Kasabian, Maximo Park and many more.
Gabrielle Aplin rose to fame thanks to a number of massively popular YouTube uploads, where the young star covered Katy Perry, You Me At Six and Cee Lo Green. She was then selected to soundtrack the John Lewis Christmas advert in December 2012, with a cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood‘s ‘The Power Of Love’, which reached number one the same month.

Gary Numan’s new album Splinter ranges from the wall-of-electronic noise that is ‘I Am Dust’ to slower velocity anthems such as ‘Where I Can Never Be’ and the orchestral strings of ‘Scream’. The album features guitarist Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails, Guns N Roses) and is produced by long-standing collaborator Ade Fenton.
